Great to be out in some parts of Dunkeswell and Otterhead ward yesterday to launch our first campaign of 2026 on Farming, Energy and the Environment. Discussing important issues such as the Family Farms Tax, Solar farms on agricultural grade land, regenerative farming and Net Zero.
Dylan Burtoft, Division Organiser for the Blackdown Hills, said:
“Out across Dunkeswell and Otterhead ward we heard loud and clear just how angry and frustrated people are. Residents know that Reform UK, Labour and Liberal Democrat MPs all had the chance to reject this dangerous attack on rural Britain in a Conservative Opposition Motion on 6 January, and they failed. Many people told us they believe Richard Foord is a disgrace and has completely failed local farmers. There is also real concern about Labour’s push to force solar farms onto productive agricultural grade land. That’s why we’re not just listening, we’re acting – leading the fight locally and backing our petition to stop the proposed 147-acre solar farm in Talaton.”
People across Honiton and Sidmouth are tired of their Liberal Democrat MP failing rural Britain. Failing to turn up to stop the Family Farms Tax, failing to challenge Labour's hostile attacks on the countryside and Ed Millibands crazy rushed Net Zero agenda.
Over the next few weeks we'll be out across Honiton and Sidmouth speaking to residents.
