Today is Back British Farming Day, when we celebrate the farmers and agricultural workers who work hard every day to keep high-quality British food on our plates and care for our countryside.
Here in East & Mid Devon, farming is at the heart of many of our communities and plays a vital role in our local economy. Our farmers deserve a government that understands the pressures they face and backs British food production.
There are encouraging signs that the Conservative Party is rebuilding its support among farmers.
A recent poll carried out by The Farming Forum, the UK's largest farming website, shows the Conservatives have overtaken Reform as the party most likely to receive the farming vote.

The Conservatives have risen from 26.2% to 44.7%, while Reform has fallen from 59.4% to 41.7%.
There is still a long way to go, but the direction of travel is encouraging. We will continue to listen to farmers, stand up for British agriculture and make the case for a strong future for farming.
Buy British. Back British farming.
